Regardless of how you develop your story, it must be organized. The drafting process is long and the blank page intimidating.
Writers fetishize word counts. Words viewed in that sense become busy work. Words on a page do not equal a constructed story. When you’ve already invested a 100,000 words and things aren’t working, giving up becomes more attractive.
Spending 500 words planning is potentially more valuable that 5000 words drafting.
Take time getting to know your story before you write it.
