Writers need other creative outlets. The importance of these outlets is two fold:
First, the creative process is similar in many of its forms. Showing progress in one can help support the idea of progress in another when struggling through. Maybe that chapter isn’t coming out the way you’d hoped, but that recipe you’ve been repeating finally came out the way it should be. That can give you the confidence to push through.
Secondly, it’s good to get your mind off writing sometimes.
