The Resonance

As we move through the writing process changes are bound to happen. That’s why it’s a process.

When writing through the fourth or fifth drafts, scenes and character interactions occurs that were not planned or thought of before. Suddenly, you have a breath of fresh air for the story. Something that you didn’t know was missing is finally there. It may not turn out the way you want, but at least you can go down that road and see what happens.

Writing requires so many false starts, and that is why it can be discouraging. But you have to run through the maze. You have to create the clay to mold.

We are looking for good stories. We are looking for stories that resonate.  But they have to resonate with us, the authors, first. One of the most exciting things about the way we write is that we don’t really know the end — not the real end, anyway.

But when we do, the resonance is waiting.
