Sitting down to write can be difficult. Dedicating oneself to anything is daunting. The time required, the attention diverted, the responsibilities experienced — both real and imagined — are forces that keeps one from what needs to be done.
Steven Pressfield calls it “The Resistance.” It is more than that, though.
It is life. Life is what keeps us away.
It’s a catch-22. Without living life, what is there to write about?
